Our
Mission
Inspired by the Gospel stories of Mary and Martha of Bethany, our mission is to educate girls through prayer, creative arts, literature, music, dance, nature, and service.
Mary teaches us to be present to Christ in prayer and contemplation, while Martha shows how to serve with love, properly ordered by faith. Together, their lives reflect the harmony of interior devotion and active service – an ideal we hope every girl will discover with us.
We read in John 11:5 how Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. When these sisters realized Jesus was in their midst they both said to Him, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." - John 11:21,32. Martha and Mary's grief moved Jesus to tears and those around them proclaimed, "See how He loved them." - John 11:36
We believe all are called to this intimate friendship with Jesus, and in the House of Bethany, that journey thrives in a joyful, faith-filled community of peers and mentors.
